COBRA provides certain former employees, retirees, spouses, former spouses, and dependent children the right to temporary continuation of health coverage at group rates.

Yep. They passed a resolution to make it a law that you pay the company your last employer paid to continue the same medical insurance coverage you had on the day your employment ended. I've used it twice.
