A musical question.

Is it hard to learn how to play the guitar? Was it hard for you?

Sorry, I'm a tired old man, I went to bed. No, I didn't find it particularaly hard to learn guitar, but back then we had three tv stations (no computers, of course) and it was several miles to town so there was a lot of time to practice. I never had formal guitar training, although in school I played french horn and trumpet (my dad was a trumpet player with Gene Krupa, that won't mean anything to you). I also took piano lessons at one time. This may have given me an advantage when I picked up the guitar. I would say anyone can learn a few chords and accompany themselves in fairly short order though. Record yourself too, it will help you to pick out weak areas that you might miss while you're concentrating on playing.

Sweet holy mother of the holy man Christ this guitar is fun. I have already started putting together some decent notes albeit in a horribly messy way due to placing the wrong finger on the wrong string or blocking the neighbor string constantly. No mind wrenching pain on the ivory sticks so far.
