... Protocol specialists in Washington, D.C., say the White House rarely serves anything exclusively because it makes a point of catering to the tastes of visiting dignitaries. But state dinners often spotlight American foods, and one protocol specialist in Washington says it is reasonable to assume that the governor has a shot at persuading the White House to spotlight Hawaiian coffee from time to time.

ewww yeah ... when I was in Texas, that was the worst coffee I'd ever had in my life! Of course, I'm a coffee snob .. and a beer snob, luckily the beer was good ... :D

there's a woman in the office who can turn the best tasting Kona coffee in the world into crap. when she brews coffee it tastes just like colored water :gmorning:

she uses only 2 scoops for a 10 cup coffeepot :disgust2:

Soon after I started here, the office limited it to three (fairly large) scoops per pot. Apparently, my ratio was making everybody jittery.

You should probably empty a teabag and stuff it with coffee so you can use it to perk up your individual cup with a quick 60 second soak. It would probably be good for at least 4-5 cups. Its just a matter of finding a way to store the wet gloppy bag in the meantime.

people just don't appreciate real coffee like us :D nalani mentioned your fix on Kona coffee the other night :D

Coffee of any type. It's a must have. Kona or the Brazilian I ocassionally get my hands on are preferred.

Real beer in texas? You need to come to CANADA! Try Labatt Blue!!!! (yeah, they have a free long distance thing and I have ot listen to an ad whenever I make a call so I now think I like Blue even though I don't like beer at all....)

I'm still a fan of Brazilian. My boss has a buddy who lives there, and I do a lot of favors for him regarding his business here. About 3 times a year, he drops a kilo or so of the good stuff on me.

BTW, Kona kicks the shit out of Jamaican.

Depends on the freshness. Once a month we get a flight from Kingston. About a week later, the Africa channel comes back home. Hell...I used to be a fan of Cafe Duran (Panamanian coffee), but the fresher, the better. The stuff I get is less than two weeks from the plant. :grinyes:
