PAPER: 'AIR AMERICA' MISSES PAYROLL; MORE TURBULENCE AT LIB TALK NET

In yet another sign of trouble for Air America Radio, the liberal talk network entering its fifth chaotic week on the air, co-founder and chairman Evan Cohen resigned Thursday, as did vice-chairman and investor Rex Sorensen.

The CHICAGO TRIBUNE is planning to report in fresh editions: The company also failed to make its scheduled payroll, leaving its staff roughly 100 radio personalities, writers, and producers unpaid until Thursday.

The departures of Cohen, a former political operative from Guam who was among the network's initial investors, and Sorenson, an investor who owns radio stations in Guam, mark the second executive shake-up at the fledgling network in as many weeks.

Franken Changes Name Of Radio Show
'O'Franken Factor' Becomes 'Al Franken Show'

The author and political satirist said in a statement Monday that the name of his show on the liberal Air America radio network is changing from "The O'Franken Factor" to "The Al Franken Show."

"The O'Franken Factor" was an obvious jab at the name of Bill O'Reilly's show "The O'Reilly Factor," which airs on cable television's Fox News Channel.

"No matter how hard we tried, Bill O'Reilly wouldn't sue us," Franken said in the statement. "Since that was the whole point of the name."

He said that show has not given up making fun of O'Reilly and reserves the right to change the name back to "The O'Franken Factor."

Franken said other names for the show were considered, such as "The O'Limbaugh Factor" and "The O'President Bush Factor," but "somehow they didn't have quite the same ring to them."

"I don't know if that's true or not," Franken tells Radar when asked about the bankruptcy report. "We do know that there have been cash-flow problems. I haven't been paid in a while. Like, there's no cash flowing to me."

It's not the first time Franken has gone without a paycheck. Air America ran out of money promptly after it launched in 2004, after disgraced former chairman Evan Cohen inflated the amount of money he had raised to fund the network. Since then, Air America has seen a litany of troubles, executive departures, talent shuffles, and lawsuits. Six months ago, the network was booted from its flagship station in New York City, WLIB, to a much weaker signal that doesn't cover the entire city, and it laid off five staffers on September 11, according to the New York Post.

You find a woman face down in the street missing three teeth and disoriented and suddenly everyone is seeing Rush behind a tree with a bat.

Hannity reported this evening that the entire Rhodes incident was a false report. No police record existed of any attack, and her own attorney was reported as saying that nothing occurred. I don't have a link because I really don't care, just relaying what was broadcast on a nationally syndicated program. The same report claimed that lib-blogs were already accusing conservative media personalities of guilt. Again, I don't have a link because I would have not the faintest clue where to begin looking for a liberal blog. I have more use for sanitary napkins than liberal blogs. That is all. We now return you to "Survivor: Detroit", already in progress...
