airport police with submachine guns

Heathrow, Gatwick, Glasgow.

Scared hell outta me the first time I saw them. I thought there was a hijacking.
 
we've had armed police with semi-automatic and automatic weapons for years. i remember when i first got a good look at some at stanstead a while back, made me think twice about the old 'nothing to declare but the crack up me arse' customs line :D
 
Hmmm, the ironmongery I have in my leg could make for an interesting incident through one of those detectors... :eek:
 
a friend of mine has a little note attached to his passport that tells the metal detector people that the metal in his hand really is there to hold his wrist together and not painfully implanted bomb parts.
 
I think I'll avoid airports for awhile.... My artificial back and the clamp in my leg would prolly cause too much fun... :D

they've been carrying them for years on schiphol airport as well....last november they could laugh about my mr bean impression of reaching for a gun...first they looked, then saw the smile on my face, and bursted into laughter as well, lol

wasn't very smart, looking back now, and i would never try that in the us, or israel for instance, with the current 'shoot first, then ask questions' policy...
