American border protection is bad

MEXICO CITY - Anti-immigrant sentiment appears to be growing in the United States, Mexican President Vicente Fox said Wednesday, and he urged U.S. officials to act quickly to control movements such as the 950-member-strong Minuteman Project on the Mexico-Arizona border.

Fox said he plans to push for U.S. immigration reform during a meeting with President Bush in Texas next week. He also said the two leaders, along with Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin, likely will announce a plan to expand the scope of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Mexico's National Human Rights Commission recently issued a warning about several new grass-roots movements inspired by Arizona's Proposition 200. Other Mexican officials have cited the Minuteman Project, a plan by activists to patrol the border during April, as a sign of rising extremism.

So, in order to help Mexicans to illegally cross the border, Fox is going to "push for immigration reform" instead of fixing his own country? Sounds like plan.

Mexico's National Human Rights Commission? Have they ever visited a Mexican jail? That would be a good place to start.

"We totally reject the idea of these migrant-hunting groups," Fox said. "We will use the law, international law and even U.S. law to make sure that these types of groups, which are a minority . . . will not have any opportunity to progress."

hmmm,
Amendment II

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed

Sorry Presidente, we already have established rules.

I'm afraid (using the word loosely) that there's going to be some serious
violence over this eventually.

Vincente thinks the U.S. belongs to Mexico, and he's been trying to take it back.

From Fox News Sunday 01-2004
"It's not that we're looking for these Mexicans working productively in the United States to become U.S. citizens. They like tacos, they like their families, they like their community, they like Mexico. Unfortunately, they don't have the opportunities that they would like to have as persons, so that's why they move," Mr. Fox said.

Fox said all immigration barriers should be removed to allow people to live and work in the country of their choosing, whether it be Mexico, the United States or Canada.

The U.S. should have the military on the borders.

The U.S. should have the military on the borders.

That we agree on.

Cat's right though. This AZ business is going to lead to something ugly if we're not very lucky.

Yea, maybe Vicente is right. We should allow undocumented aliens to freely cross the border. NAFTA and all. Those who speak Spanish as a primary language will be paid an equivalent wage in pesos. Those who speak English, dollars, those who say 'eh alot...Canadian dollars.

The problem with minute man is that they might be armed and commit crimes against mexicans, that's not something new either.

You should worry more about those minute men patroling the border, they might get massacred by some cartel.

Murder is murder no matter if it's an illegal or not.

But... but... they're only mexicans Luis. It's not like they were real people. :lloyd:

*Understanding that english is Luis's second language, I'd like to point out that that was sarcasm. If you got that, then I apologize for pointing it out. :D*

while I do agree with Luis idea that murder is murder, They are illegal. thereby why should they be allowed to use our system of courts? they are already breaking the law by invading. We are protecting our land. so while your post was done with sarcasm, I say no.

Where the hell have you been ?
(I've been in Arizona)
Illegals have MORE rights than American citizens.
If something ugly doesn't happen soon
something really Ugly will have to happen soon.

Prop. 200 for all.

I think that's one of those things you wouldn't really understand until you live in an area where illegal immigrants live.

They are preferential citizens.

I told my Kid that illegals were going to be denied
in-state tuition rates at the college he will be attending.

He found it odd that they had previously been afforded
such a thing. Heh heh

Your son sounds like he's a confused American. He doesn't understand that, well, these people are special, damnit.

Yes I must make him see that when a non-citizen with no drivers license, no insurance, doesn't speak English, drunk off his ass, smashes his car into his and gets released and returns to mess-co to avoid prosecution, it was he who was to blame somehow.

Don’t worry Son you’re young, you will heal quickly.
And Paco will be back in the country drinkin' and driving again soon.
Yup.
