A US judge has dismissed a lawsuit against God on the grounds that "a plaintiff must have access to the defendant for a case to proceed", the BBC reports.

Sadly for Nebraska state senator Ernie Chambers, who'd sought a permanent injunction to put an end to the Almighty's "death, destruction and terrorisation of millions upon millions of the Earth's inhabitants", Judge Marlon Polk ruled: "Given that this court finds that there can never be service effectuated on the named defendant this action will be dismissed with prejudice."

Chambers, who said he may appeal, argued that the court's acknowledgement of God's existence in turn indicated "a recognition of God's omniscience". He reasoned: "Since God knows everything, God has notice of this lawsuit."

Chambers claimed he filed the lawsuit last year to show that "anyone can sue anyone else, even God". ®

That's not just some Bozo with nothing better to do ... that's a publicly paid, elected leader of your people. Aren't you glad you paid your taxes on time this year? He sure is.

A politician in the US is protesting at frivolous law suits in the US courts by launching one himself in which he is suing God.
The suit (pdf) seeks an injunction against God to stop him and his followers making terrorist threats.
It has been filed in a Nebraska district court by Ernie Chambers, a Senator in the state Senate.
The suit says God "has made and continues to make terroristic threats of grave harm to innumerable persons". It said the threats were credible, given God's history.
It said God and his followers caused "widespread death, destruction and terrorisation of millions upon millions of the Earth's inhabitants", as well as "fearsome floods, egregious earthquakes, horrendous hurricanes, terrifying tornadoes, pestilential plagues, ferocious famines, devastating droughts, genocidal wars, birth defects, and the like".

Chambers's suit was filed in protest at frivolous suits in general, and one in particular. During a trial for sexual assault on Tory Bowen the judge barred the use of certain words, including "rape" and "victim".

Bowen sued the judge in the case, but a court has already said it doubts whether that case has "any legal basis whatsoever".

Chambers said he was so outraged at Bowen's frivolous law suit he filed his own in protest. "This lawsuit having been filed and being of such questionable merit creates a circumstance where my lawsuit is appropriately filed," said Chambers, according to news agency Associated Press. "People might call it frivolous but if they read it they'll see there are very serious issues I have raised."

On the question of the court's jurisdiction, Chambers said in his suit that the Nebraska court was appropriate, since God is always present. He also said there would be no need to contact the defendant since he is also omniscient.

Chambers asked the court for a summary judgment or for an injunction against God from engaging in the acts detailed in the suit.

Suit is deeper that is let on.

Of course it is. That`s what the media does, twist reality into a circus to keep the voyeuristic sheep focused on (or off) whatever the PTBs have on the agenda today.

Fortunately, he's a local state Senator, not a federal nutcase. I don't live in Nebraska so I'll just point & laugh.
