Another attack on the church?

 Okay, stop breathing in church. And outside of it. It's the only way you'll be healthy.

I read that it was the wintertime candle burning that was the culprit. Candles put off smudge... no shit, Sherlock. (X) many candles in (X) amount of volumetric space in ye olde country where the building have no centralized AC or heat for air exchange in conjunction with 1000+ people packed in shoulder to shoulder = elevated noxious gas by-products. Its a no-brainer.

edit addendum: year round candles and incense and the like... just more pronounced in winter.

:hmm: Here they are, mounting an attack on the Christian church for being incensed ( ;) ), and they let the Muslim extremists have their way every time...

Some rappers tell you to kill cops
Some rappers tell you to take drugs (Smack your bitch up)
Some rappers tell you to steal
Some rappers tell you to abuse bitches
Some rappers tell you to ... kill non-Muslims

As for the air in churches... it can be stiffling and with those parishioners with breathing issues like asthma...it can be downright dangerous. Our new rector likes incense...we've lost a few regulars because of it. They can't breathe well while in church and leaving the back doors open is out of the question this time of the year.

While I can see where it could become a health issue, the question remains...why are they (the press) bringing this up now?

As for the rapper...he's not the main reason for the post. The main reason has to do with the imam's preaching hate, intolerance, and extremism. ;)

Oh for the love of macaroni salad...the air inside a church full of people is no more unhealthy than the air inside a ________ full of people. I don't see mass hysteria over airborne pollutants keeping people out of basketball games, bingo halls, WalMart, or anywhere else they choose to go. Why would a house of worship be one iota different?

Good grief...some of this stuff....too stupid for words.

some heavy metal songs call upon breaking the Law
some goth and industrial songs say they want to or will rape/kill you
some endorse drugs and sexual deviancy. So where are you going with this Mark?

I can think of two off the top of me head...Judas Priest "Breakin' The Law" and Zodiac Mindwarp "Let's Break The Law". I personally like both tunes, and can honestly say that neither ever induced illegal behavior from me.

I know. I posted it because of what Bish had said. I was wondering where he was going with it.The paper I turned in and presented was on the school shootings. In it I found that lyrics and music do have an influence on behaviour but it is not as strong as it was made out to be. Again I wasnt trying to blame music for anytihng. I tedn to be a fan of metal and goth and some rap so far from it. More of a take on Bish if you will.

Judas Priest does have a song called Breaking the Law. THat came to my mind when I posted it. I never heard of the other. then the ones that endorse drugs can technically be in that category

Zodiac Mindwarp is a more obscure artist.

From what I understand, he began life as Mark Manning. He became publisher of a British metal fan magazine. When times got a little tough, he reportedly sent his staff out to interview the biggest names of the day. When they returned, he took the stories, published a final edition, failed to pay his staff, and closed up shop. The tale only gets better. He then reportedly took "massive quantities" of hallucinogens, entered a cave somewhere in Spain, and emerged days later as Zodiac Mindwarp, claiming to have at least a dozen alternate personalities. He hastily put together a band he called The Love Reaction and released an LP called Tattooed Beat Messiah. He has become quite a cult figure, and has written songs recorded by Alice Cooper among others.

Tattooed Beat Messiah is one damn fantastic album IMO. It contains a song called Let's Break The Law, an ode to his girlfriend...a teenage lass whom he serenades throughout this song. The "Law" he wants to break with her is, of course, Statutory Rape, as proven by the lyrics..."Jailbait, baby, wanna flick your legal switch/Well I like to see my baby, like to see that little bitch twitch..."

Taken for what it is, it really is a good album. I highly recommend it.
