Hollywood Rocked: Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger says during taping of 'Tonight Show'' he will run for governor in California recall election!

A source to blame when this proves untrue.

LOS ANGELES - Arnold Schwarzenegger ended the suspense Wednesday and jumped into the race for California governor, instantly becoming the best-known of the declared candidates seeking to replace Democrat Gray Davis in a recall.

Well, one less fool to laugh at

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Talk-show host Jerry Springer, who brings foul-mouthed prostitutes, homewreckers and skinheads into living rooms every day, said Wednesday he will not run for the U.S. Senate next year.

Well, I'd vote for Arnold before I'd vote for Larry Flynt or Gallagher. But I'd been under the impression that Arnold leans more Republican, while his wife (Maria Shriver) is the Kennedy.

How does that affect things exactly?

With the exception of Diane Feinstein, Arnold has the best poll numbers & DiFi isn't running.

WHY??? He won't answer questions on where he stands. How can anybody poll that high without a known agenda? Better asked, why don't the people pay attention anymore?

I can't blame your for voting for Arnold, there were some people that used to vote for Cantinflas for president

I don't care either way, he has my vote.

if i had a criticism of his run for governor it would be the propensity for aquisition of votes because he was famous. i held out the faint hope that he would at least demonstrate policies to show willing. sadly it appears that the cult of celebrity has reached such levels now that he needn't even bother answering political questions to achieve office.

i doubt the people really pay attention any more, not past the tabloid culture their lives revolve around.

actually looks like he has a stance similar to what others in Cali want.

I just want to see a paper with Davis' picture and the headline "TOTAL RECALL"

that'd be ballsy

At least Arnold won't make decisions as guv with the Oval Office in the back of his mind....
From what I understand anyone with $3500 filing fee and 65 supporting votes can be considered a candidate, and it looks like a few did:
