When reparations are made to the victims of Sherman's onslaught of murder, rape, and pillage, I'll listen to all these other claims. Not until. He was the most heinous war criminal ever to go unpunished.

Sherman's raids were government sponsored, and he had presidential support. The Tulsa Oklahoma riot was sponsord by civilians, and there are no monetary damages being requested. Just acknowledgement of the actions...

I can ususally guess acronyms fairly accurately...this one had me stumped.

They are asking for monetary damages, just not in a "cash settlement". (post 3)

Context of what? There is only one context for what Sherman did. It's called monstrosity.

Context of the Tulsa requests? A handout is a handout. Does it really matter how the money is paid?

I just don't like the idea of reparations for things that happened that long ago. I think it contributes to keeping the tension alive rather than doing anything to ease it. :shrug:
