Bought a new car

A '92 Mitsubishi Mirage. Haven't taken any pics of it yet, but I will soon. Not too bad of shape, the paint on the top sides is starting to oxidize, but not too bad yet. Only other thing wrong with it is the cv joint on the passenger side. So, it will be parked in my driveway for awhile til I get around to fixing that.

But, the kids are excited, they're already calling it thier car, although we let them know it is NOT their car, it is our car that we MAY let them borrow. Yeah right.

That is nice of you to buy your son a car though
IT"S NOT THIER CAR! Really. Ok, it is. :disgust2:

so all that's needed is a paint job and a cv joint...that's not bad :headbang:

colour? mileage?

130,000 miles, Dark Blue. Found a pic online of what it USED to look like.

$500.

not bad at all!

My Nissan (sigh) had 480,000km on it when we got it, still ran beautifully...yours should still be good for a while.

:D

vroom vroom.....*halt*.....*reaction time*......*weeee!*

ok, not that true....my parents have a ford escort stationwagon 1.6, 4 cylinders...but i always seem to squeez quite a bit of power out of that thing....

I was surprised at how well it does drive on the highway. Of course it takes a half mile to get up to speed, but it's nice and smooth. The reason I'm thinking cv joint is because it's popping when you take off turning a corner, taking off straight it just purrs. I think I'm gonna be happy with it regardless.

My sister is almost at the point of getting her license. She needs a car to run my errands, preferably a crappy car, everyone needs to experience a crappy car in their lives :D

My former car was an 1997 1.0 VW Gol with 55 HP. One would think it could not move itself :D, but I never found a place it could not carry me :)

Jimmy Buffet used to talk about a hundred dollar pickup truck. I've had two. My first band van cost $150. Of course, adjusted for inflation since 1975, it's probably $75,000 now. :D

This is the second lowest I've ever paid for a vehicle. I once bought a 68 Ford F150 for 250. It ran for six months, moved me from Iowa to Kansas City, two trips, and died after I recieved my second paycheck in KC.

My dad once bought a K-Car for $50. It wasn't running but $50 worth of parts later and he had a car that he used for 2 winters and was still running perfectly when he sold it for more than the $100 is total he had paid...
