Who is that A.B.? Bell?

Psycho, I'm paying around $64 Canadian for the internet and 20 channels of cable television.

 and you get that upload?

dang! Mine's Rogers, supposed to be 128 upload, so I guess I should be happy with the 180 :D

<sniff> <sniff> I'm still on stinking dial-up from home. <sniff> <sniff>

Your download speed : 348370 bps, or 348 kbps.
A 42.5 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 695894 bps, or 695 kbps.

hmmmmmmmmm I get a MUCH faster connection internally. Can DL full movies internally in 10min.

well if you're downloading off the LAN of course you'll download full movies off another computer in 10mins :D you'd need a 10mbit cable connection and download from a fast server to do that in 10mins of the net

I know that the external shouldn't be near as high as the internal but it seems TOO much lower.

Thats more than fast enough for a shared internet connection, you gotta realize that they gotta split up their main broadband feed to serve many connections, and 45KB/sec is very good and your upload is excellent, also it may be due to the fact that others are using the internet too, making your download speed a bit congested.you gotta realize that the external speed has nothing to do with the internal speed, the internal speed is controlled by local means, while external is dependant on alot of factors.

2002-10-01 10:23:45 EST: 1958 / 4040

Your upload speed : 4040404 bps, or 4040 kbps.

Your upload speed is much faster than down.. have you tweaked?
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

Not bad for a Government computer...

Nothing is too expensive for the government. Its not that they dont have nice toys, its just the unholy paperwork and animal impact studies and bid process and background checks for 18 months that make it annoying.

Funny thing is...Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio is faster...

Check out these speeds...

3398/2132 30th 14:xx wpafb.af.mil
2530/2539 20th 04:xx hurlburt.af.mil
2181/2162 27th 10:xx wpafb.af.mil
1958/4040 1st 10:xx charleston.af.mil
1118/2109 16th 18:xx edwards.af.mil
1114/1130 25th 14:xx hurlburt.af.mil

For those who don't know...

wpafb is Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio
hurlburt is Hulburt Field in Florida
charleston is me :)
edwards is Edwards AFB in California...So much for silicon valley

Thats probably just their traffic load dragging them down. Im sure Edwards gets its signal strength pounded constantly. Asscrack Ohio isnt up to much of anything other than refuling planes on their way to real bases.

Could be their filters as well...I'm sure I could get more speed as well if I close all eleventyzillion windows I have open... ;)
