It is bad, yes. Distilled, de-ionized water (like Milli-Q for example) will actually leach substances from your body into your digestive tract across concentration gradients.
Edit - wow, that sounds really stupid, lol
Hello, sir. Have you recently read any body chemistry books? Thats what them water companies WANT you to believe. Here is the run down.
Minerals can't be used by the body if it isn't organically compounded/bonded with carbon. Period. Eat iron filings and see if you get your iron supplement. Go chew on some sandstone and see if you get your calcium. You don't. Minerals in food are usually bonded with carbon which makes it organic. That means, your body can use it.
The stuff in water is natural minerals. Its inorganic. NO carbon. Your body CAN'T use it. It just clogs up the system. And your body has to get rid of it somehow. What is the best way to get rid of inorganic minerals you get in your diet? Distilled water. Distilled water leeches and sucks your body dry of INORGANIC minerals. Organic stuff gets absorbed with water, inorganic stuff sticks to the water and is excreted.
So, when you eat normally and drink distilled water, it seeps the inorganic trash and gets excreted. If you drink "mineral" water, you bring more poisons into your body.
For a test, drink nothing but distilled water for 2 weeks. I did, and it does work wonders.
For more information, read some health books. For one,
Fit For Life by Dr. Diamond is an interesting read.
