“Quebec bomb” to be launched at the 2007 Show!
The 39th edition of the Montreal International Auto Show (MIAS), taking place January 19 to 28, 2007, promises to dazzle visitors when it features, amongst the other exotic vehicles presented on 7th Heaven, the official launch of the prototype for the first ever Canadian supercar, the 2007 Pléthore, from HTT Locus Technologies.

The Pléthore is the brainchild of Quebec designer Luc Chartrand. “It is nicknamed 'The Quebec bomb' and it is entirely composed of carbon fiber, the very same material used in F-1 cars. Not only does it offer incredible visibility from the central driver position, it also has room for as many as three people up to 6’6” in height each… a true first for this class of vehicle”, comments a very impassioned Mr. Chartrand.

With its 750 horsepower engine (standard) or its 1,300 horsepower engine (optional) capable of producing speeds exceeding 330 KPH, and its overall weight of 1,100 kg, the Pléthore is an extremely powerful vehicle as demonstrated by its amazing weight to power ratio. The car retails at about $330,000 CDN and its exotic design is simply breathtaking!

mid engine-rear drive. most ofthe current crop of supercars have that layout. better front to rear weight ratio.

also has room for as many as three people up to 6’6” in height each

now if only the major car companies could figure out how to do that with their smaller sporty cars

I kept thinking...Batmobile when i first saw it.

Imagine this if you will. It's designed and hand-made by an individual, not manufactured by some company like Porche or Lambourgini. This was some guy's hobby...he got some help setting up a plant and plans on making 400/year. He's got 10 orders and 20 more waiting in line.

:beardbng:

Figure it out? Porsche did that 30 years ago (914) and Pontiac more than 20 (Fiero). Of course, Pontiac's execution wasn't up to Porsche's but what do you expect?

If you are so lucky to get one, just where you plan on using all that HP and speed? Hope you have a stash of money to pay the speeding tickets. :D

Think they'll catch me? ;)

It's listed as street-legal...but in one of these, I'm thinking that they'll be cruising down some streets at 50kph or so. MUST be seen!

(So far sales are going to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Russia and China..go figure).

On another note, the police men taking care of our freeways and highways now are driving chargers and some are driving chargers srt8.

It doesn't surprise me that most of the orders for that car are coming from other countries... there aren't many places in Canada you could drive it for more than a month or two out of the year.

I can think of Celine Dion and Bryan Adams... maybe Eric Gagne. Probably the CEO of Canadian Tire, too.

Celine and Bryan are Americans' now....and you can keep'em :p

If Conrad Black can get out of jail...He might be a viable owner. :nerd:

Punch out the trunk and place a bass-cannon out there, maybe a PS3 installed... fully pimped out ;)

*Gimme a Cuda over one of these any day, but what a piece of eye-candy this is. :grinyes:

actually, i was talking about fitting 6'+ people in the car.

i owned a Fiero. lot of fun but a real bitch to get in and out of and that was back when i was 50lbs lighter and 20 years younger.

I almost owned one...but there was this small issue of a missing piece of flooring, right under the gas pedal.
He was selling it cheap, and I was single at the time, but I figured that actually being able to put the pedal to the metal required metal being there in the first place.

*No..I am not exaggerating.

Heh, I used to have a 914-4. It was fun to get the Fiero guys out on a twisty road and watch 'em try to keep up. :D You're right at least about the 914, anyone over 5'8" or so need not apply. I have to say this though, I have never driven a car that handled better or more confidently except a Formula Ford.

The fun part for me... I'm 5'10" which isn't too horribly tall... but my body build is long midsection/short legs, meaning sunroofs really put a damper on available headroom for me even in such cars as the Dodge Magnum and the Lexus ES300.
