Did Sen Kerry cheat?

Check for yourself
about :14 seconds after the commercial.

the rules were
"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."

It took me a second to see it. It's 12 to 14 seconds after the Olay commercial, as the candidates are walking to the podiums. Kerry definitely does take something out of an inner pocket of his jacket. Now, what did he take out of that pocket? It certainly wasn't a container of water or anything of that ilk.
 
So is this what happens when republicans realize they have lost a debate then? they complain about pocketed pens? :D

Actually I think I'm still registered Dem. :confused: (just a conservative mostly)
I don't think there is really winning, and losing debates. :shrug:

I wasn't complaining about a pen. I was complaining about not being able to follow rules.

It seems Edwards had a very hard time trying to follow the rules at one time there
too tonight. :nerd:

BTW It look to me like Chaney have Edwards for lunch. :lol2:
 
Yes there are Republican liars & cheats too. They just aren't the number one choice to be President or to run for President.
 
I am sure the Dems dont like the idea of it being a liar or cheater, but they may see past it to what the person stands for and such. Though I would rather an honest person from the Dems run.





but the repubs did get a liar. actually 2. and both were bushes
 
So...Kerry takes out a pen from his pocket unconsciously and puts it on the pedestal...and this is an issue? Hell, I walk home with pens that I use at church and placed in my pocket...but does that mean that I'm a thief? Doubtfull. *I return the pens btw*

How do you know it was an unconscious thing?
To me it's not a questrion of being a theif, or even being dishonest...
It's just sad, and I'll admint Kerry probably isn't the only one in the gov, that
has a problem with following instruction, but he is running for press, and thus
should be more careful about exactly what he does, and says.

A pen? A fistful of ricin? A note pad? Does it matter? He didn't follow the rules he agreed too.

Lying is an indicator of character. Looking past bad character to what they stand for is like looking past 20 years of nay votes on domestic security before voting that person in as President during a war. Like making Commander in Chief out of someone who went before Congress & denigrated the soldiers in which he served beside. Like giving the keys to the weapons cabinet to someone who has a self inflicted war wound.

Do you know why the liberals in this country are shouting & screaming & hollering LIAR so loudly? It's because their past choice got caught lying, under oath, & he was impeached because of it & they are going to now force that description onto somebody who doesn't have a stained dress in the closet so to lessen the severity of the charge.

Clinton was a liar. That makes him a piss poor president. John Kerry is a liar. He would be a piss poor president.
 
The simple fact that you guys are crying foul over a pen and not over one iota of the substance of the debate says it all in my opinion... He has a pen! He cant be trusted! Elect Bush! :D Would you like some more straws to grasp at or are you gonna stick with the pen thing.

Really? It looked to me like Edwards was on message all 90 minutes and had Chaney back on his heals for much of it. And it looked to me like they both delivered solid blows. Of the four of them only Bush came off as clueless and ineffective in my opinion.

Cheney made Edwards ineffective & the fact that John boy needed to yell Haliburton half a dozen times ws only the icing on that cake.

That thread was basically about the Iraq war and not the debate. at least by the time i caught up with it.

Its amazing how bias can alter the perception of something right in front of you (on both sides). Halliburton is chaneys achilles heal. why wouldnt a politician bring it up? he is the poster child of corporate corruption in high office. and the whole halliburton thing stinks to high heaven. and i would have been outraged if it HADNT been brought up. it sure needs to be.
 
Halliburton is nothing. Boeing makes planes & overcharges the gov't. Lockheed-Martin makes weapons systems & overcharges the gov't. Halliburton is virtually the only engineering/logistics firm that does what it does & they overcharge the gov't.


Were you this bent when Clinton GAVE them a NO-BID contract in Kosovo?
 
personally I didnt know about Kosovo back then but I would have been more pissed about him bombing them if I knew. Still doesnt feel right that he bombed them.
