Clinton Wants Change in Presidential Term Limits

The national debt did not increase during the period of balanced budgets. It did decrease but I'm sure that must've been a left wing smoke and mirrors thing that never really happened....It doesn't matter what the facts are.

i prefered the guy who doesn't look like he's waiting for the autocue to kick in behind his eyes. ;)

OK, that did go down, and revenue was shown as higher than expenses for the final 2 years of Clinton's Presidency on the Fed annual report as well. Yet, total gov't debt rose over the period. How did that happen?

Our illustrious leaders took money from Social Security and counted it as revenue, and then gave back Gov't bonds. Thus, a debt shell-game which resulted in higher total debt, lower public debt, and higher "revenue" which should actually have been shown as an asset decrease.

There never was an actual surplus.

BTW, this shit is still happening under Bush, and it still pisses me off.

Edited for shitty typing. :D

Me too! The only feasible way I can see to change it is revolution, and that scares me shitless.

There can be bloodless revolutions. That's the whole idea behind polling places. The only issue is that you have to get 200 million apathetic twits up off their asses.

I've always thought that what this country needed was about two more viable political parties.

While I agree it's possible, can you name one?

Besides, that isn't the part that scares me. Who gets to be in power after. Sometimes these things don't work out as planned.

I used to think that, then I looked at the countries that have realistically, more than 2 & saw nothing but chaos. Of course, one of my arguments in favor of slick Willie is he & the Congress disagreed so much & nothing got done & that is why we prospered :D

we have had a 3 party system for a while, all be it with a third party of lesser standing. they are there though, and making life difficult for both of the leading parties. it may well come to pass that they become the credible opposition party in the uk within 5-10 years.

certainly no chaos with it though.

This whole thing that Americans are ignorant is a big joke. Last time my Canadian friend traveled abroad with me so many people called us Americans.

I think you might have a point - it's probably all the Canadians being mistaken for US citizens that gives the US a bad rap.

Clinton was a good president. Certainly better than the last demo. candidate...Gore. That guy is as emotionless as the Simpsons protray him to be...(that entire 'ce-lebrate' thing).

I would take Clinton over Bush any day. I hope he gets the 22nd Amendment lifted for him.
