I still think along the lines of:

If they happened to land in your skull, well, then you should have moved.

How can you expect kids to learn about things that harm them if they don't get to have minor burnings from ovens, matches, and car lighters

I guess my point in all this wan't that there is a chance to be burned. More that the stupid thing was not engineered to be servicable. Who ever heard of an oven that won't make room for baked goods to rise? It would be one thing if they didn't make mixes that rose but they do.
I think that a lot of time these toy manufacturers are counting on apathy from the parents. That the toys will actually see little to no use.
