they do indeed!

thing is I have no idea how much this is costing me.... I haven't got a phone bill for this period (since getting the laptop and connecting from home) yet.

Unfortunate. Most people here that are on dialup just get a second telephone line and leave it on 24/7.

we do indeed pay for local calls, but most isp's have a cheaper than local rate or unlimited use flat fee arrangements.
