With a 128kbps connection do you think there would be any noticible lag in normal internet browsing?

My mom could prolly save $15 a month by getting Rogers Lite internet instead of Rogers HighSpeed. Both are cable...8 months of the year I am not there and my brother hardly uses the internet...the four months that I am there it would suck for downloading but I can survive...if browsing won't noticably change...it's a nice chunk of cash over the course of a year...

128k wouldn't be too bad for normal browsing. Suck for porn though.

Only for graphics heavy sites and flash... provided she doesn't download at the same time.
Surfing + Downloading = Teh pain +1.

my friend has it nix, it doesn't really noticeably change anything...they have a really crap computer so it's hard to be precise, though, but browsing it seems ok there.

I used to be on 128kbps, it isn't bad for normal browsing, even for small flash sites.

My brother's computer is really crap too...

:rofl4: @ Kawaii!!! Sorry...I am just picturing my mom doing ANYTHING with the computer...hehe, she just pays the bills :D

What about with 2 computers networked together??? Would that still be decent you think?

depends, just having two computers networked won't add _much_ extra traffic, if both computers are competing for that internet connection you might run into problems. imagine 2+ machines with 56k both trying to surf at once. That's my situation and it sucks at times.

hmmmmm I am gonna have to read some more about the lite end of the cable internet...hopefully save my mom some $$ while not jeopardizing my interneting :D
