We're a little more laid back and a little more 'suspicious' up here. We don't go in so much for blind patriotism and blind faith - we're proud of our peoples and our accomplishments - and the army is essentially just another branch of government - sometimes it works well, and sometimes not so well. It is all politics in the end, and 'we' as a whole don't swallow that at face value. The people in it get highest respect, but 'it' itself is just there.
And, I don't see much wrong really with waiting till one gets the Canadian honour before accepting one from another country.
