The terrorists say it's a religious war so it is a religious war. How we seperate the issue is, we, the western world, aren't looking to force feed our religious beleifs (or lack thereof) down their collective necks.

I don't think the Koran specifically requires it. I think there is something about secular powers deferring to the church though (been a long time since I read any religious texts). Doesn't really matter though, in practice the clerics are probabaly the only ones with the wherewithal to get elected so you'll end up with a theocracy in any case. As to the original pupose of the thread, It's a little scary that someone with no more understanding of what a statement like that will cause was in a position to say it.

Nope. I didn't miss that one bit. Just stating the obvious. As for the man trying to rally the troops, isn't that what he's supposed to do? Demonize the enemy to make it easier to fight that enemy? ;)

Oddly enough, you are correct. ;) It's actually spelled "The Great Shaitan", and it doesn't actually mean the devil...more like 'trickster'. :shrug: Same idea, though...
