Culture shock

What's the difference between that and a Jesus fish on a car, except scale? Never seen a "Honk if you love Jesus" bumper sticker?

A truck is a rolling billboard. What difference is it if it says Jesus, or Miller lite on the side? I've seen highway billboards advertising the Montreal Casino, and that shocks me a lot more than seeing one saying Jesus Saves.

Those tend to be more individual statements,we're too PC to think we might piss off potential clients to make a business based statement such as that.

The owner of the trucking company obviously feels he'll attract more clients by having this signage than he will repel. And around these parts, where the story said it was seen, he'd be right. He's still in business, ain't he?

I'd go so far as to say that should some of our more outspoken atheist members here decide to run trucks through here with statements they have typed on here themselves, they'll have a rash of flat tires.

Now, that being said...if I owned a company that needed to ship freight, am I going to hire someone simply because they put a sign on the truck that paraphrases John 3:16? (that's the God so loved thing the story mentioned for our heathen populace :wave2: ) Probably not. But I won't throw a hissy fit about it either.

Sounds like there's lots of criminals around those parts that attack people who think differently. How lovely that must be.

That company, if I recall, is called Covenent. They're all around up here too. While I may not always agree with the message, I salute the owner(s) for having the balls to not be politically correct.

Apparently, nobody told the letter-writer that in 1901 NOBODY got government handouts (other than cheap land which WAS aimed at immigrants) because there weren’t significant government social programs until after World War II.

What a glorious time.

I've seen many, many separatist slogans on trucks, having spent many many hours on the road over the last 15 years as a road tech.
