Disarmament...

interesting read...not that lengthy though :)

i was wondering...on the news i heard in a statement made by the white house that the americans have proof that the iraqi's are not living up to the rules stated by the UN, and that they have also proof the the iraqi's are hiding weapons of mass destructions, and components to produce those.

then they were asked why they didn't reveal these facts, so they would be able to justify an attack on iraq, gaining more support of foreign countries.
the reaction was that the white house was 'waiting for the right moment to reveal the information'.

interesting stand they are taking there. i'd guess that the white house could only benefit from revealing that information. but now they are waiting for UN inspectors to come up with things, while they have the information themselves already...or so they say.
their credibility would definately improve if they revealed this information they have, and would most definately improve the amount of support of at least european countries of america's possible war against iraq...

i only saw the statement on the news, and wasn't able to find this on the internet yet, but i'm pretty sure some americans have seen it as well...

so any idea what the reasoning of the US might be to NOT reveal the information they have?

We have the facts & evidence. Of course the world community would also have us hand out all the intelligence we've collected to the media as well which would effectively render that data useless as any materials at the sites we've collected data on would be relocated within a matter of hours.
