You're tired of seeing the same woman at home, day, after day, after day. Eating the same cooking, day, after day, after day. While sitting in the lunchroom at work, you notice that some left a newspaper open to the personals. One ad catches your eye. A quick read convinces you that this person is a perfect match for you. Do you answer the ad?

Part two. If you answered the ad. What would you do if the your Sig-Other was the person who answered? Act as if you knew it was them, and how dare they betray you like that? Consider it a second chance at love? Hang up, and never bring it up?

How do you think your Sig-Other would react, if you answered?

It's usually a good idea to dump the significant other before you try to shag other girls. Especially if you're as bad a liar as I am.

Part 1, no.

Part 2, if I found out my wife placed a personal ad that would be it. Over.

Budding Jordan cyber love ends in divorce

Sun Feb 6, 3:59 PM ET Offbeat - AFP

AMMAN (AFP) - A budding romance between a Jordanian man and woman turned into an ugly public divorce when the couple found out that they were in fact man and wife, state media reported.

Separated for several months, boredom and chance briefly re-united Bakr Melhem and his wife Sanaa in an Internet chat room, the official Petra news agency said.

Bakr, who passed himself off as Adnan, fell head over heels for Sanaa, who signed off as Jamila (beautiful) and described herself as a cultured, unmarried woman -- a devout Muslim whose hobby was reading, Petra said.

Cyber love blossomed between the pair for three months and soon they were making wedding plans. To pledge their troth in person, they agreed to meet in the flesh near a bus depot in the town of Zarqa, northeast of Amman.

The shock of finding out their true identities was too much for the pair.

Upon seeing Sanaa-alias-Jamila, Bakr-alias-Adnan turned white and screamed at the top of his lungs: "You are divorced, divorced, divorced" -- the traditional manner of officially ending a marriage in Islam.

"You are a liar," Sanaa retorted before fainting, the agency said.

Sometimes life truely is stranger than fiction

Why do you think I like to see a picture of a girl I meet online before meeting in person for the first time?

A quick read convinces you that this person is a perfect match for you.

AS in a call girl ad, right? Reading...
"I am the perfect match for YOU. call me!!! 555-4756"
???? No?

 or how about a "personals" ad for ...russian brides :brow:

Anyone stupid enough to find a personal ad IN THE NEWSPAPER and come to the immediate conclusion that they have found their "perfect match" deserves to be with the wife that was stupid enough to place the ad in the first place.

It is obvious they would be made for each other.

#2: I wouldn't even take the 'ad' seriously let alone contact it, let alone browse that section of the newspaper....

Seriously though - hypothetically, if I found that out through that it would be my own stupid fault wouldn't it but no doubt I would be extremely hurt - however it would be wrong to set a double standard now, wouldn't it?

I have never answered a personals ad, nor have I even been tempted to answer one. Likewise, I have never placed one or been tempted to. I find them entertaining reading maybe once a year or so, just to see what lengths people go to in their search for whatever they are searching for. Should I discover that my wife placed one, I hope she lands somewhere soft and cushiony. As I would expect identical treatment from her, and would deserve it or worse.
