When was the last time you were at an event
that played the United States national anthem?

did you doff your hat
or put your hand over your heart?

what type of event was it?

The last time for me was at my Son's HS grduation.
And yeah I placed my hand over my heart
(like you were taught in school?)
(yeah and the members of the military present in uniform
saluted)

Of course a prayer followed this but it was a Jesuit prep school graduation after all...

Some sporting event or another (used to hear it a Dodgers Stadium regularly) I typically stand at parade rest.

I stand. If I'm wearing a hat, I take it off and hold it over my heart. If not I hold my hand over my heart.

Oh yeah, a Sounds game.

I can't recall but I didn't sing it nor put my hand on the heart.

And I don't wear a hat

Either Remembrance Day (Nov 11th) or an Impact soccer game.

For the former...standing with hand over heart (where the poppy sits)
For the latter...singing along with the crowd at something resembling 'parade rest'.

A Rome Braves game, about 2 weeks ago. I stood, took off my hat, placed it over my heart. If I hadn't had a hat, I would've placed my right hand over my heart.

And yes, I sang.

you mean ours? they can't have played theirs?

In April, at the NASCAR race here in Texas.

Just wish some of the "singers" would learn how to sing the anthem, though. My ears turn inside out at some the renditions --- or maybe I should call them "renderings". LOL

yeah...my thoughts exactly...why would they play theirs at OUR rememberance day :eyebrow:

For me it would be a sporting event...I guess baseball was the last one...more than likely...but that was years ago. For the US one that is...for Canada it would be...ah hell, I dunno but something more recent than that.

NCOA Graduation...Formal Retreat. Stand at attention, face the flag, and render a salute until the music is over.
