Also being a Beatles freak, In My Life, Maybe I'm Amazed and Silly Love Songs are all classic, along with Julia (even though John wrote it to his Mom), Something, Got To Get You Into My Life...just to name a few :D

For newer songs, I'd have to say Hotel Yorba by the White Stripes and Oh by Dave Matthews (solo) are my favorites right now.

Beatles, eh?

I love the Beatles! (excluding just about everything with Yoko in it)
Jealous Guy
Stand by me
Yesterday
Woman

There's a few good love song off the top of my head by the Beatles.

Elton John: Can you Feel the Love Tonite?
Elton: Blessed
Phil Collins: Cant hurry love
Paul Mcartney: Maybe Im Amazed
Lords of Acid: Do what you wanna do
Beatles:Yesterday, Something, Let it Be
Jim Croce has a song on my moms cd but I am not sure what song it is
Enigma: Dream of the Dolphin, Return to Innocence

Silly Love Songs has been running through my head since this thread was posted.

Thank you very much. :grumpy:

:p

OHGOD. :eek13:

How much does that put cottage cheese thighs and cellulite in your mind?

Original lyrics...

Scrambled eggs, oh my darling how I love your legs...

I shit you not.

I did not know that to be honest. How do you know these are the original lyrics may I ask?

Snp and Chic: Would it have been better had I said Jim Croce Album or greatest hits?

Didn't matter. When you said "my mom's Jim Croce album", I aged another three months instantly. I now own music that people's moms are into...

I love you :(
Sarah Mclachlan.

I have a smile
Stretched from ear to ear
To see you walking down the road

We meet at the lights
I stare for a while
The world around disappears

Just you and me
On this island of hope
A breath between us could be miles

Let me surround you
My sea to your shore
Let me be the calm you seek

Oh and every time I'm close to you
Theres too much I can't say
And you just walk away

And I forgot
To tell you
I love you
And the nights
Too long
And cold here
Without you
I grieve in my condition
For I cannot find the strength to say I need you so

Oh and every time I'm close to you
There's too much I cant say
And you just walk away

And I forgot
To tell you
I love you
And the night's
Too long
And cold here
Without you

Those were the words Paul sung when he first wrote the music, to help him remember the tune. I doubt they were ever intended to be the real lyrics :wink2: I either read that in a book or saw it in an interview, it's hard to keep track.

Another good was is Day Tripper..."She's a big teaser" was originally "She's a prick teaser" but that got nixed pretty quick by George Martin :jester:

I own lots of music people's moms are into but I don't think I'm old...

dont' worry, I'm some people's mom, and I like Jim Croce. And I'm not that old.

Yeah, I know it's kinda strange, every time I'm near you
I just run out of things to say, I know you'd understand
'Cause every time I try to tell you, the words just came out wrong
So I have to say I love you, in a song
Every time the time was right all the words just came out wrong
So I'll have to say I love you, in a song

Yeah, but I was the original metalhead. Now I learn that moms like some music I like. Just kinda disconcerting...I'll recover.
