After 9/11, 400 FBI agents from around the country were dispatched to New York to look for evidence in the ruins of the World Trade Center. But now a federal investigation reveals that, while they sifted through piles of rubble, many of those same FBI agents removed items to use as souvenirs or gifts for bosses, friends and colleagues.

Sick, pathetic, disturbing & completely understandable. I wonder how many the firemen & construction crews took.
 
i suppose it's just like ashes from mt. saint helens or pieces of the berlin wall....but i wouldn't it.
 
The pieces of marble, the flag, even the Tiffany globe I can understand.

But the patches from World Trade Center security-guard uniforms, that's going too far. I just hope they were hanging on hangers and not just pulled off the body...

Do you think they'd have been able to really distinguish whether it came from a hanger or body in all that mess?

It just seems extremely disrespectful to those who died that day, why keep a trophy of someone else's tragedy. In a way I understand the macabre fascination, but it's still sick & disgusting.

It takes a real strange and warped person to sift through bits of bone,flesh, blood and bejesus knows wot kinda chared remains for a "souvenir" :alienhuh:
