Fun with logic

Gotholic posted this image as if there was some point to it. Not sure what the point was...maybe "people who wear Obama shirts are scary criminals"?

There was no source article posted with the image so we're not sure if these are actually even mugshots. Jumping to that conclusion we're not sure if these people were convicted so they may be innocent.

Jumping to the conclusion that they were convicted what are we left with?

Someone who's motives we're not sure of assembled a bunch of mugshots of people wearing Obama shirts. Did they look for people wearing shirts for other campaigns like this one?

Has anyone historically recorded each time someone was arrested with a shirt promoting a political party or candidate? How many Obama shirts have been sold compared to those for other candidates/presidents?

I can't ever remember seeing a Bush shirt but I see Obama shirts all the time.

So what point does this leave you with? None.

I'm wondering what you would logically like done about a muslim temple being built a couple blocks away from the former WTC? Should we outlaw certain religions? Should we outlaw building churches near former locations of crimes committed by christians? Maybe tear down the church where the guy shot the abortion doc?

How many blocks away should this new bigotry based building code be enforced?

One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn't belong,

errr, two I mean

I'm curious as to Spike's take on the Swiss minaret ban.

That's a great topic that I don't know enough about yet. Can't even have an opinion which is how I like it.

My first impression is that there are very few minarets compared to chris.tian symbols. I would like to see none of them.

Shouldn't this be in it's own thread?

People are arrested all the time, wearing all kinds of shirts (or no shirts at all). Not sure what that has to do with anything at all.

My opinion: let's ban all religions to even the score.

Here's some more right wing talking points that don't hold up to scrutiny.

Liberal talk radio was doomed from the beginning. It was saved several times and I believe it already filed under chapter 11 or 13, didn't seem to help.

The writer has made the mistake that Air America was all of liberal talk radio. Quite easily debunked with a quick search.

It was nothing but hate and fear mongering. The liberal agenda can't withstand the scrutiny of open discussion, truths are revealed that show it for what is.

This would more accurately describe the conservative agenda. Notice that the writer just makes baseless claims without any examples.

We have all heard the fake commie, muslim, death panel, killing grandma, marxist, anti-christ, type fear mongering from the right.

An excellent example of right wing fear mongering that doesn't hold up to scrutiny can be found here:

The progressive agenda require manufactured enemies to attack, the tools do it willingly and blindly.

Again baseless with no examples.

Yet the same example can be used to demonstrate right wing manufactured enemies.

Some people believe that if you say it enough it makes it true. There are all sorts of Urban Legends that I could list here that people still believe are true but never happened. This is why we have places like Snopes.com to debunk those crazy emails that get sent around. :)

Here's one...

Ahhh, so you think there was another US company 1/2 as well prepared to rebuild a nation as Halliburton?

The writer wants us to believe that no other company could possibly have done the job in Iraq other than Halliburton. Of course they offer no proof that this is the case. They just want you to accept their claim without thinking about it.

Logically even if it was actually true that no other company could have done the work there would still be no reason not to allow bids on the work. Companies either would bid or it would be evident that they weren't ready.

It's just an excuse for the "it's ok if my guy does it" thing.
