Gasoline: Price Gouging?

Yep, Gato suggested doing that, but the Highway Patrol here frowns on that type of thing.

Aunty, you bring up an interesting point. However, look at it from the other side. Don't you think it would be better to get rid of your higher taxes & other costs instead of thinking we're not paying enough (no, that's not what you said exactly but it can be construed as such). It's the same in the great hinterlands of Canada. There is more than enough crude that none of us shoud be paying (fill in amount here). The UK, Europe in general, is way, WAY overtaxed on petrol. Demand your governmetns lower taxes. Throw your tea in the sea & drive cheap.

We tried that 2 years ago... it didn't work. *sigh* I think we've just got used to it. The papers over here reckon petrol will be £4.00/gallon by the weekend... :( I can imagine the queues at the pumps right now, good job I filled up on Tuesday so I won't have to pay another visit for a couple of weeks. Some people have even converted their diesels to run on cooking oil. :)

Is there a market for ultra fuel efficient motorcycles and those souped up honda scooter mopeds that do 55mph over there? I know that the fuel effeciency would be a good deterrent towards making people want to save on fuel cost... but does it outweigh the whole cold winters/lack of carrying capacity?
