It was fun while it lasted. At least the toolbar will be less crowded.

Search engine giant Google has cut off its news relationship with a number of online news publications that include frank discussions of radical Islam – the New Media Journal becoming the latest termination, as its owner just discovered.

I wonder how long they can keep that up before their stock holders start rattling their cages.

Hitting the search icon on the browser brought me to...

Google.

Damn. Gotta fix that one too.

WOW! These other search engines just can't compare to a censored one. Well, since they aren't censored they can.

In case you would like an alternative - ANTI-GOOGLE Because Censorship Sucks.

The e-mail that ended Googles reign.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for writing. We received numerous reports about hate content on your site, and after reviewing these reports, decided to remove your site from Google News. We do not allow articles and sources expressly promoting hate speech viewpoints in Google News (although referencing hate speech for commentary and analysis is acceptable).

For example, a number of the complaints we looked at on your site were found to be hate content:

http://www.newmediajournal.us/staff/peck/05102006.htm
http://www.newmediajournal.us/staff/stock/05082006.htm
http://www.newmediajournal.us/guest/imani/04222006.htm

We hope this helps you understand our position.

Regards,

The Google Team

Not allowing that which is not news in Google News. How heinous of them.

It's good that they are consistent

The popular video-sharing YouTube site, which is being purchased by Google for $1.65 billion, limited access to a political ad that mocks the Clinton administration's policy on North Korea, but contains no profanity, nudity or other factors generally thought objectionable.
