Government expenditures

But if I continue to act all pissy and mope on about feeling ignored, he might crack his facade earlier and rejoin the conversation and de-butt his head.

Ok...but don't you think this is more fun? He's presenting kind of a dopey arguement.:tardbang:

It was fun the first two times he repeated himself ... now ... *wiggles a flat extended hand in that 'iffy' motion*

extra cost scenarios and it just isnt sinking in.

He's right. Dopey or not, it still shoudn't have any additional costs when we already pay the friggin government employees to suck. If this shit is true, why don't we pare the prosecutors office to minimal staff for Joe Schmoes & have extra cash to hire hired guns? Put the coroner & staff on per diem instead of paying them salaries.

Sorry, it makes no sense to have a humongous overnment & still have to pay extra.

Mark, the whole 'speedy trial' thing requires that the system pick up speed to keep all of the cases moving right along... not just the high profile ones. When a healthy chunk of resources slides over to take care of trial X, the system has to either spring for overtime pay or source out the overload by hiring temps or more full timers that simply wernt budgeted for. Sometimes it even comes down to one of those superior court judges saying that jail conditions are too overcrowded. That causes all hell to break loose with private outsourcing and rapid building of new facilities that simply, again, were never planned for.

Hell...Just imagine the cost of sequestering that jury for the OJ trial. And thats just because it was so High-Profile.
