Gun Ownership

i think they must be blackpowder replicas, apparently adjusting them to fire bullets can be done but it does make a very unstable weapon.

much of the rise in gun problems here are cultural i believe, we have many youths who see guns as part of a scene, related to music, cars etc. this applies especially to pistols and the fusion of gangs and music.

I can imagine so. I wonder why they wouldn't just load it up as a blackpowder gun. It's not like it wouldn't kill someone just as well as a regular gun. Reloading is a problem, but an extra cylinder pre-loaded would give them enough shots for a gun battle.

Same here. Of course, guns have always been a part of US culture. That's had a negative side and a positive side. These days, I think there's more negative than positive. Raising children to understand guns, to know how to shoot, to know how to operate them safely-- that's positive, as long as they also have an appreciation for the rights of their fellow man. Raising children to worship guns as a means of power over others, that's negative; and that's what the majority of children are getting.

im in between on this subject and les yes we have done this before. i would, like any of you, protect my family at any means. thats why im in favour of it. however id like background checks on people and proper fucking training on the goddamn firearm please excuse my french but id like to think whoever owns the firearm knows how to use it and load it and unload it without blasting someone by accident. also we need to teach our kids about them and yes keep them hidden so kids cant get them.

haven't owned one in about 12 years. grew up with 'em but I wouldn't put up with Cali's shit, so I left it in AZ & sold it. won't buy a legal gun ever again-registration is the first sign of a overbearing government, know where the guns are. we are guaranteed the right to keep & bear arms period. not to register them, not to take courses & put them in safes & put trigger locks on 'em-all to what end? keep the criminal safer? just like all other things, be careful & remain attentive for safe usage. accidents are bound to happen & should not be jailable offenses, unless it can be proven a crime.

guns are tools-would you outlaw a shovel?

Unable to have one in the UK.

But given the chance I would have one for every day of the week.

I should have the right to defend my family however I see fit, it that means
shooting some one to save them I would not have a problem with that.

The ban in the UK will only stop people who use guns for sport - any body who want's a fire arm for illegal reasons can get one with out much trouble...

As far as I know in the UK citizens are only allowed to own shot guns and must have a licence and good reason to own one.
