I interviewed for a new job last week. Just found out I got it. I am now a Computer Information Technologist. In short words that means I'm a Cobol programmer. Probably won't be able to actually start for another month yet, my boss wants me replaced before he lets me go, but all this school is actually going to start paying for itself now. I'm happy.

Nah, this is still Govt work. 90% of the code at the State of Mo is Cobol.
And Yes Les. One drawback, I will most likely have to actually work now.

Yep, mainframe and AS/400. We use Cobol for both.

Prof, did some research for a class I just got done with. Over 75% of existing code that is still running was written in Cobol. They will be Cobol jobs for years to come.
