then once again we come to the question: who determines who has the right to own nuclear weapons?
why is the US (according to the US itself) allowed to have nuclear weapons?

isn't that the reason why the US has nuclear weapons? to guarantee its safety? the old tiresome discussion of what is right and wrong, who is good and who is evil...and he is allowed to have nuclear weapons and who is not.
and most of all: who is the one to determine?

Tell ya what shadow...let 'em have 'em. We, half a world away & working on a missile defense system, are probably safe from ICBMs...for now. You, on the other hand, are in easy firing range and you don't have time to evacuate.

If you aren't clear on where your safety lies, you really need to re-evaluate your historical lessons.

yes, yes...then we are in firing range. so are we with russian nukes (drunk guys partying the launch rooms?) etc
now. please tell me, the US owns nukes. so far the US are the only ones who used them. BUT! the US isn't actually launching their nukes at countries that are well within range of their missiles.

yes, i must assume that IF iran develops nuclear weapons, they will of course launch them randomly to whatever country that is within range. of course THAT is the way to go...

The Russians had something to lose. MAD only works with those who actually have some resepect for life. As I recall, those closest to the USSR had a cow when Reagan called their bluff & moved Patriot missiles to Europe. Now, th eSoviet Union is no longer a threat.

Say, I forget, how many times has The Netherlands been invaded?

Whats to stop Iran declaring Jihad on the infidel west once they have the power to do so.....given the way THAT kind of things going at the moment I'd rather not chance it =/
