Healthcare bill to cut deficit by $130 billion

As best as I can tell, the bill just passed steals a bunch of money from Medicare and raises taxes that will likely affect me personally, and paints a rosy picture of the money it will bring in. Also, what do we actually get for our trillion dollars? We have an expansion of Medicaid for $38 billion, and we have a law that says everyone has to buy insurance. There are a few tax breaks to help some people do that, supposedly, but certainly not $900 billion worth. There's no public option. So... what is the rest of the $1 trillion actually getting spent on?

This bill never addressed the real problem with health care: insurance companies do not pay the full price the public pays and they do not have to pay in 30 days like the rest of us do.

Many of the Mom and Pop pharmacies have gone out of business because of the pay practices of the insurance companies. But these insurance companies are not held to the same dead beat practices that the citizens are held to. If I didn't pay my bills within 30 days I'd have to pay extra. Instead, insurance companies tell the providers what they will pay for services and product.

Open your eyes, people... they would rather everyone hold grudges against the dems and President Obama rather than lift the veil of secrecy on what the real problem is.

Medicare for everyone sounds good to me. At least people would have coverage and the private companies would not rape the public (including the medical community) like they do.

I read the tables in the report and they didn't really tell me anything. I didn't feel like reading the other 25 pages of text in the report, since I'm busy with a lot of other things going on at work and at home. I'd thought that since you seem to think this bill is the greatest thing since sliced bread, you might have some facts as to how a bill that creates a bunch of new spending can actually decrease the deficit.
 
Yeah, I'm busy too. Also I don't think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Still need a public option and some other reforms. Hopefully Grayson's Medicare for All bill will get somewhere.
