hermana or hermano. it's the same with tio and tia - uncle and aunt. Puppy is perrito and kitten is gatito.

Yeah, "ito" and "ita" suffixes are used for the diminutive (??). However in regular language diminutives are often used to denote an extra implicit meaning, like "chocolatito".

Heh, I know a guy named Paul who's about 5'2" and probably ways 100 lbs or so. A bunch of us call him "Pablito." No, he's not hispanic.

My spanish teacher used to call us something that sounds like "amengito". Could never figure out what that meant though. Maybe "little basards" or something like that?
