Just when things seem to be cooling down in Quebec, the Premier of the Canadian Province of Alberta has started waxing about the possibility of western separation.
Alberta is Canada's richest, and most self-sufficient province, thanks to their large oil reserves. Unlike Quebec, the province could theoretically function as a sovereign nation, which makes the thinly-veiled separation threats all the more serious.
