You know, I thought life would kinda get a little bit easier as the kids grow up and start taking care of themselves ... the eldest is already out of the house, making his own way in the world so it should be easier, right? There are only two home .. so shouldn't it be easier???

Well, the kids left at home didn't get that memo. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't want them sitting at home playing video games every spare moment they have, but geez ... it's like they're addicted to scheduled physical activity LOL. Check out this schedule:

Mondays & Wednesdays
Ka'ehu, hula 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Kawai, gymnastics 6:30pm - 8pm

Tuesdays & Thursdays
Ka'ehu, soccer 4pm - 6pm
Kawai, cheer practice 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Alternating Wednesdays and Thursdays
Volleyball games (cheer) 5pm - 9pm

Fridays
Football games 4:30pm - 9:30pm

Saturdays
Bowling (cheer) 10am - 4pm
Football (cheer) 4:30pm - 9:30pm
Soccer 8am - 2pm

Sports is a great way to keep them focused, centered, fit, and away from drugs .. but man, it is driving me to drink :D

How in the world do other people do this? I mean, this is hard enough with a two-parent family ... us single parents .. dang ...

Well, one set of grandparents live on the other side of the island .. and my mom .. well, she's 73 years old and has an equally busy life herself :D

Thankfully though, I have kuulani but she has a seriously busy life too. I'm friends with a few moms on my son's team so we back each other up when we need help - such a huge help.

Coffee .. that's the trick, isn't it? :D

Dunno. I don't touch the stuff. Tea, however, is very relaxing. In fact, I think I'll go make a cup/.

I'm lucky. Tae kwon do two times a week, guitar lesson once a week, both take place nearby. All I have to do is call and remind him to have a sandwich before he leaves if I'm late home from work.

My mom and dad used to split the driving when we were younger...until my mom went on afternoons at work, then my dad did all the driving...it was INSANE! He'd drop one of us off, then take the other, then go pick up the first, then pick up the second. Sometimes there was waiting so we'd take my brother to karate (clear across town by next door to my guitar lessons) sit there and watch for most of it, then I'd leave for guitar, my dad would beeline it back to karate, get my brother, keep him occupied for the remaining 45min of my guitar and then we'd go home.

There was this Volvo commercial a few years back... a dad is cheering on his daughter at a soccer game, then when she looks away, he runs off, jumps in the car, drives for a bit, then it shows him cheering on his son as he gets to the end of a lap in the swimming pool... then he runs off and it shows him driving again back tot he soccer game.

There's cheerleading for bowling?

yeah *rolls my eyes* it's sooo silly .. they can't "yell" .. they do a golf clap and "go, Viks" thing ... they don't want to be there .. the bowlers don't want them there .. but the BIIF Athletic Director wants cheering at bowling .. it's honestly a waste of so much time

Nixy- even though that was a long time ago, you better go hug your parents right now LOL

Inky - I remember that commercial .. that's what I feel like a lot of the time.

Tonks - I'll be sure to pass on the secret as soon as I figure it out hehehehe

What makes them sign up for that then?

My momma knows how much I love and appreciate everything she did and does for me.

Unfortunately my Poppa, the one who did most of the solo running around (he always worked days but for a couple years my mom worked afternoons), passed away before I was old enough to really know to appreciate him (or atleast to show how much I appreciated him)...I was 17 and had an additude...

With all the lights on and four and a half bottles of SAE 30 non-detergent motor oil. What? That's not the question????

It goes with being a cheerleader. You don't get to pick and choose what sports you want to cheer for - like Nixy said, it's a package deal.

It's funny because the bowling coach really likes them there and so do the parents. The ones who don't particularly like it are the bowlers and the cheerleaders :D

Do they have a special snack shack cheer for between games?

Go Reggie!
Go Reggie!
Get those nachos!
Get those nachos!
Eat 'em up!
Don't forget to tip!

I've got a news flash for ya. That's not just the folly of the young. You appreciate them more and more as your get older, but it's still not enough, even at my age. To this day, I still find myself with questions to ask my dad, or things I'd like to show him.
