how to shut up a UPS/no break

well, if you remove the speaker it won't beep anymore

i seem to recall a friend ripping out an overactive UPS speaker without any problem, but don't take my word for it

Really shouldn't be a problem. I don't think I'd remove it completely though. If you can get to it, just poke a few holes in it, then it will still buzz, but not the annoying BEEP

You could just find an old switch off a junk fan, clock, or just
get a toggle at radioshack for a dollar, and wire it to it.

...or you can clip a wire heading to the speaker. If you poked holes in the speaker, it would still make noise because the signal is still going to the voice coil. The buzzing is the battery noise.
