Idiots

I sometimes post at this site and right now I am damn disgusted. The forum I hang in is called anyone but Bush in 2004. The thing is, with the imminent nomination of Mr. Kerry, several Dean supporters are saying now they will vote Green. Throw away their vote and vote Green which is basically the same as voting for Bush, who they purport to hate.

I hope this trend is only among the radical left because I don't think the nation will survive 4 more years of Bush and still resemble the free nation it once was.

Nope. Not 4 more years. Given that, Dubya will probably christen himself Emperor of All that is good. He will, on live television, simultaneoulsy burn & ban the Constitution. Following that spectacle, I bet he makes Haliburton Georges Private Empire Best Company of the century.
blah blah blah

Please, number for us the things that Bush has done to destroy your life. Have your homes been confiscated? Maybe your girlfriend was shot by the super secret squirrel service. C'mon, I'm dying to know what has made your meaningless existence so unbearable. Either of you. Any of you.

the Patriot act i am still not comfortable with, the economy before it started going back up was really in the shits

If you'd paid attention in your high school economics class, you'd know that economies naturally cycle regardless of who's in the Oval Office. And did you notice you even admitted that it's on the way back up now, under Bush?

He dried up funding for my state so badly that the state's healthcare plan has been effectively derailed. Now my state may need to increase the state sales tax to keep afloat. All so he could spend billions upon billions on a nearly meaningless war against a nation that had no real WMDs. I am sure I could go on but I am tired right now and will have to get back to it later, if at all because I know nothing the shrub could do would sway his faithful.

i didnt have that in HS. I had NSL govt class. it never really went into economics. and yes i am aware of what i said.

Didn't have economics in high school? I find that to be strange and odd. It was required for me, and I think it should be required for everyone.

If I were an American citizen I'd not vote for Bush for the following reasons:

1. His continued focus on foreign policy rather than addressing the internal issues.
2. Patriot Act, which I view as a limitor of civil freedom.
3. His policy of pre-emtive military force to protect US interests, despite the fact that these policies are based on "truths" that have not yet been proven.
4. Unstable economy, which has been directly influenced by policy decisions especially regarding the Iraq war campaign and continued high numbers of unemployment.
5. His entire campaign is based on foreign affairs and his 'War on Terror', yet he seems uncaring about the fact that it has weakened America's bonds with the international community.
6. His archaic stance on social freedoms, especially regarding homosexual marriage.
7. He seems oblivious to the fact that a country does not just run on military strength and money, IMO he has no comprehensive policy regarding environmental issues, which if left unattended could ultimately have a very negative effect on the economy which is needed to fund his precious military.
8. Too much emphasis on governmental bureaucracy.

And he has a really bad hair day EVERY day :D

Oh my gawd, oh my gawd. What a heartless bastard. I didn't realize. I'm sorry Mark. I don't know what I've been thinking.

Oh, wait, yes I do know what I've been thinking.

BUY YOUR OWN HEALTHCARE ...it's not the job of government

SOME PEOPLE CAN'T! But they're beneath us, let the fuckers die.
*Then, they won't need health care anymore, will they?*

it's not the job of government...however the government has taken on some of the responsibility...everybody that needs care recieves it. If the people of (fill in state here) want to care for their sick why shouldn't they (the state residents) pay for it?

Actually it is the job of the government because the government passes legislation that makes healthcare very expensive and basically renders it unobtainable for people earning lower wages. So until they stop endorsing pharmaceutical companies and healthcare providers that charge the earth for basic products and services they sure as heck need to ensure that they have a way to let everyone be able to afford it.

And yes the different state departments are responsible for where they apply their rate payers' dollars, but with cutbacks from federal government in funding obviously the different states will have to make cuts of their own in order to provide for the gaps created (after raising taxes of course which means less money in your pocket and thus less money to be able to afford the healthcare and other fundamental products and services). Ironically it alos means that less money can be spent on issues such as job creation so there aren't more people obtaining the means to be able to pay their own way.

Now that is funny. :swing:

The gov passes legislation that makes healthcare expensive? Yep, it's called entitlements & the people demand more not realizing THEY are sparking a never ending circle of spiraling costs.

I know you don't like this document, you try after all to ignore it constantly, but it is after all the blueprint for America. If you don't wish to live by it, get out.

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
