I'm blind...

My brother has a little boy who is King of Brats and when he was about 2 he scratched my little boys eye. Joey (my little guy) woke up the next morning not able to open his eye! It was gunged over :( He and I sat on the couch with a warm cloth on it. I took him to the opthamalogist and he said that if it had been ANY closer to the center of the eye, it would have caused blindness

What a bummer, hey, Hex? *hugs* Leah sounds like a doll, though... bet she takes good care of you ;)

Still can't see a fucking thing. This is pissing me off!

Try some eye cleaning drops, that should help. IF it doesn't ,just rest, or go see an oftalmologist.

Hmmmmmm, according to the "hidden" definition of optometrist, an optometrist is a guy that will analize your sight capabilities, and he can only give you the right glasses.

An oftalmologist is an specialist in eye diseases, including the speciality of optometrist.

i might be wrong, i just converted the word.

yes, i was about to post the right word, i always forget to convert the spanish "f" to "ph" and the "t" to "th"

Hex, Go and seek medical advice ( if you haven't already ) ASAP.

Dirt and grit could create problems if it causes an infection - you don't know where that mud has been ( )

A friend of a friend went blind in one eye after getting it infected with Dog Poo. :(

He probably got Toxicara which is also in cat poo and can make pregnant women miscarry is they are cleaning out cat trays. Which is why it's so important to worm your cats and dogs regularly.

you are probably right, and as I said, you don't know where that mud has been

all this stuff is scary to think about... and so many of us have had eye injuries too, that's weird.

Yeah, I almost lost one of my eyes when I was about 5. My mom had brought home a rose bush that was planted in a coffee can. When she went to set it out, she took a can opener (the pointy kind that makes a 'V' in the lid) and went all the way around the bottom of the can making V's in it until she could just pop the bottom out. (I have no idea why she did it that way.) The bottom of the can then looked like a large throwing star with too many points. She put it in the garbage, but it fell out on the side of the road when the garbage men picked it up.

A friend of mine and I were playing in the street sometime afterwards and he picked it. He said, "hey, look at my flying saucer," and threw it up in the air. It went up, and came right back down and hit me in the eye. I had to go to the emergency room to have the eye cleaned out and examined. It had made a cut in it, but I can't remember where exactly it hit (pupil or white part). They put patches over both my eyes and I had to wear those for several weeks while the cut healed. This was sometime during the Spring, so my mom has some very pathetic pictures of me holding an Easter basket with patches over both eyes. In one of them I'm trying to lift up one of the patches so I can see to find an Easter egg. Talk about sad... :disgust2:
