...where all the stuff I mention from time to time is, like the Texaco station I quote gas prices from, I drew up a little map.
I've never been all that secretive about where I live... and besides, I'm moving this weekend so it won't matter soon anyway.
Explanation of what's on it for those who don't know:
Chevron and Texaco are gas stations. The Chevron also has a "Bubble Clean" car wash.
Everyone knows what McDonald's, Taco Bell and Wal-Mart are, I hope. Long John Silver's is also fast food, but fast seafood.
Kinko's is a 24-hour print shop with self-serve copiers and a wi-fi hotspot.
AutoZone is a car parts store.
See's Candies sells chocolate and other See's products. Yummy.
Kickboxers and Muaythai is a place where you learn to kickbox.
CompuTax is a tax preparer's office.
Rent-A-Center is a place that lets you "rent" furniture, appliances, electronics, etc. for a certain amount each week or month until it's paid off, at which time you own it.
Hometown Buffet is a buffet-style restaurant.
Big Lots is basically a poor man's Wal-Mart.
Factory 2-U is a discount clothing store, sort of like Ross.
Money Mart is a check cashing and payday loan store. It's both a cause and symptom of the economic realities of the region.
Romeo's is a take-and-bake pizza shop. they also serve sandwiches.
Unique Optique is a fashion eyewear shop that seems to never be open. In fact, they're closed right now... at 2:30 p.m. on a Monday.
QuickCuts is a barbershop.
Clovis Pure Drinking Water sells... you guessed it, pure drinking water. That, and "good ice cream."
The "for lease" place used to house a bierock shop. I'd been meaning to try one... but they always closed at 6. Now the place is empty... probably because America's Bierocks always closed too early to get any business.
