Because I don't follow the bandwagon I'm wrong?

The poll suggests that people have different levels of acceptable behavior. I'm trying to point out that if you give up one more piece then another will be asked for.

Not at all. I rarely do myself. You're wrong because you are not correct. You wish America to discriminate against some of it's cictizens because you don't like the idea of what they do. What's the difference between you and the 1962 sherriff of Selma?

Discriminate?

Am I allowed, under law, to marry my mother? They can get married. There is no discrimination.

They do have them.

I'll bet you think I'm a racist too because I think english should be the official language.

You know Gonz, clearly they don't think so. Of course since you understand their plight so much better than they do, I guess you'd better explain it to them.

English should be the official language. The moronic left are the ones fucking that up.

Edit: You can stop explaining it to me though. You're wrong, you are in fact a homophobe whether you wish to admit it or not. Enjoy yourself.

Nope, some of them are right.

BTW, no apostrophe in disagrees.

Well damned if you aren't right again.

Here, just for you

Nah he's stupid
Cool pic. Since the one doesn't exist, however, wouldn't it be pretty stupid to believe in the other? Religious symbolism is wasted on me.

Let me see if I can break it down so that you will understand. If you try to enact laws (or change existing laws) that would apply differently to members of different races, you would then be a racist. Period. Note that this applies to laws in their favor as well as laws that work against them. If you try to enact laws (or change existing laws) that would apply differently to people who sexual preference involves their own sex, you are a homophobe. It doesn't matter whether your reasons are religious or you just think it's icky, you're a homophobe. Lot's of bigotry out there, not all directed at various races. The most interesting thing about bigots is their adamant denial of their bigotry.

when the state became involved in marriage and created the concept of civil unions, with the attributed tax, insurance, health care (et al) priviledges, it was only a matter of time until homosexual relationships would wish to recieve the same extensions.

religion is nothing to do with it anymore, marriage has long been removed from religion. in the uk the signing of marriage certificates is done outside the religious service.

marriage is a generation principally of the christian religion in the uk. it is no longer the domain of the christian faith and is now a product of state. not being or living by christian tenets is no longer a bar to marriage.

i see no reason to deny a homosexual relationship the basic rights of civil unions. being allowed to be declared next of kin damages nobody but can mean a great deal in the event of death. having created a home and lived together it seems churlish and petty not to extend to their relationship the right of inheritance.

Thanks chcr. I'll be sure to let my homosexual friends know that you disapprove of my beliefs & that I am officially a homophobe. They may wish to be warned of me before it's too late.

Or they'll laugh heartily & wonder why you can't see that this goes far beyond marriage.

Yes, it does go far beyond marriage. If you have any homosexual friends, ask them what they think about the issue. The real issue still boils down to equal protection and equal rights under the law.
