Rogers is often retarded but a few weeks ago our modem went caputskies and they had a new one here the next day. That impressed me (and they admitted it was a problem with the modem after very little round abouting my brother said).

Last night, I went back as it's obviously not fixed. I talked to someone and didn't think to save it. She said she'd have a level 2 tech call as they still had some more work to do. I said ok.

Shock of shocks, no call!!

Hi, I'm having trouble getting an issue with intermittent disconnections resolved
Paul11:00:52 PM Aug 01 2006
I also have a question
Paul11:01:42 PM Aug 01 2006

Melanie11:01:43 PM Aug 01 2006
I can help you with that.
Paul11:01:56 PM Aug 01 2006

Melanie11:06:35 PM Aug 01 2006
Your line is in perfect synch with our network, but you are close to being not in perfect synch...
Paul11:07:08 PM Aug 01 2006

Paul11:23:05 PM Aug 01 2006
thank you

little bitch last night lied.
Fuck I hate that.

Can you log to the DSL modem and fetch the connection details?

Here are mine:
DSL Line (Wire Pair): Line 1 (inner pair)
Protocol: G.DMT Annex A
Downstream Rate: 1024 kbps
Upstream Rate: 256 kbps
Channel: Fast
Current Noise Margin: 31.0 dB (Downstream), 31.0 db (Upstream)
Current Attenuation: 25.4 dB (Downstream), 14.0 db (Upstream)
Current Output Power: 18.7 dB (Downstream), 11.7 db (Upstream)
DSLAM Vendor Information: Country: {0xB5} Vendor: {BDCM} Specific: {0x4D54}
PVC Info: 8/35

Mine doesn't do that as far as I can find out, IIRC.

Siemens Speedstream 4200 - I 'believe' Sympatico disables all access to settings on it. They change the factory default to their own firmware, and you're fucked.

Both my DSL modems were SpeedStream... but the manufacturer was Efficient Networks. Did Siemens buy them out or something?

I'd think it would be the other way around... Siemens is a HUGE company, although they're better known in Europe.

Efficient is written on the install software, but not on the hardware itself.

This really sucks. I can't use MSN or nuttin cause it blips out every 30 seconds.
