That's about the age I was figuring. Probably cost $5000 then. Now it's a doorstop.

I've had a 16 port switch for several years, but it's only 10 base.
That's mostly unlivable transferring gigs.

10B switches are great for large quantity, low volume offices. They can always out perform a 100B hub. But for low quantity, high volume, the reverse is true. But then, I've got two 3com 24 port switches, with 2 1gb ports each, so I don't have those kind of problems.
