Reports of looting in Fort Pierce had business owners on edge Monday, even as they tried to sort out the damage done to their storefronts by Hurricane Frances.

St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara said there had been eight arrests on burglary and theft charges directly related to the storm as of Monday morning, including two Fort Pierce teens.

Those arrested were taken to a jail without power, running water or flushing toilets. Thirty portable toilets arrived Monday, 30 more are expected today.

I hope that while their in the dark dry jail cell, that someone takes their homes apart piece by piece.

I read somewhere that a judge released all the prisoners that were misdemeanors and had under 35 days left on the sentance. He has a special love for looters and called looting 'capitol offense' here and that placed all the looters on $200,000 bail.
