As assinine & loudmouthed as he is, Howard Dean may be the most honest move your party has made in quite some time. It won't help your party...in fact it may cause more damage but at least he's a true modern Democrat. A respectful move.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democrats elected Howard Dean chairman of their national party on Saturday, casting their lot with a skilled fund-raiser and organizer whose sometimes caustic, blunt comments can lead to controversy.

The 447-member Democratic National Committee chose Dean on a voice vote to replace outgoing party chief Terry McAuliffe. The former Vermont governor and presidential candidate had promised to rebuild the state parties, take the offensive against Republicans, and better explain party positions on issues.

Hopefully he'll slap some of the up coming candidates around so maybe there's
a "real" choice.

I actually was looking at Dean in the beginning.
Then he started sounding like a "mob boss".

Lieberman is still the only one of that bunch that I would vote for.
It would have been a hard choice for me, if he'd stayed, and got the nom., then.

I may be able to tolerate Lieberman...especially since, by todays standards, he's not a real Democrat anyway. Sen Olympia Snowe, Maine, is more (D) than Joe.

I think it's hysterical that members of his own party are already distancing themselves from him after Dean declared "I hate Republicans and everything they stand for". Joe Biden has made a point of emphasizing on the Sunday morning news circuits that party chairmen do not make policy. Thank goodness, eh? :lloyd:

Edited to ditch the second "already".

Joe Biden and several others are beginning to see where the party has gone over the last 3 decades. It certainly ain't the Party of JFK.

Even his wife hates him

WIFE WILL NOT JOIN DNC CHAIRMAN HOWARD DEAN IN WASHINGTON
Sun Feb 13 2005 18:49:45 ET

Howard Dean won the chairmanship of the national Democratic Party over the weekend and quickly began looking for a home in Washington.

"This is really goodbye to Vermont, for now. There's lots of work to do," Dean told supporters.

Eyebrows were raised after it was revealed that Dean's wife, Judy, will not be joining her husband in his move.

"She has a career as a doctor, her patients require her attention," said one Dean friend.

The Deans will join the growing ranks of "commuter marriages," with both partners living in different locations.
