So y'all can rest assured I didn't just make this up or something

A cow on its way to a local slaughterhouse accidentally got loose and ran through downtown streets for about an hour Wednesday morning, eluding efforts to capture it, before an officer with the Greeneville Police Department shot and killed it.

NYC has cops chasing murderers through Central Park...Chicago has shootouts with dope dealers...LA gets to chase OJ in a white Bronco...we get a cow.

Now I expect PETA to show up and commence to protesting. Ice-T will write a song with the lyric, "I'm a muthafuckin...cow killer!" Vegetarians from coast to...well, Sierra Nevada maybe...I think they all live out yonder don't they...anyway, vegetarians will start belly-aching about the cow's right to fight for its life...Ted Nugent will do a benefit concert to promote bovine hunting...it's just gonna get downright ugly around these parts. Barbara Streisand might even show up to protest the police brutality, and if her nose comes that'll make two votes...who knows where it will all end? Some photojournalist might find five other cows under a big ol' shade tree and call them the Jenna 5 for all I know.
 
Hey, if any of those PETA/whatevers do come by, you might wanna offer up a local delicacy: 100% Natural Cow Chips! Some of those people just can't get enough of it... :D

Dunno. But there WAS a local festival right about three blocks from the scene of the crime called Chillin and Grillin the previous weekend. Maybe somebody just dug a big ol' pit and started some coals...
