That's because the pressure down there is unbelievable. It's hard to imagine anything could exist, but yeah, the deep sea guys are some wacky lookin' fishies.

Yeap, around 3000kg of pressure per square cm.

They live in the dark too, and some of them have a "light" to attract other fishes and eat them.
