Hi mate. :D

I'm just doing a bit of research and remembered that you are of course, a fine Mexican fellow.

Do you know of the ancient city Teotihuacan? I assume that you do. Have you ever been to this place, or know anything about it? My research has been limited so far - I know about the pyramids there, and a little about the speculation of what the architecture symbolises - but that is all.

If anyone else knows anything as well, I'll be really grateful. Especially if someone has been there and can tell me what it felt like.

Ta. :)

All I remember is that they sacrificed specially chose people to the sungod...their blood had some special meaning if I'm not mistaken :)

Look at http://archaeology.la.asu.edu/teo/ for more info...not very in-depth, but nice info nevertheless :)

Geez...Mexico can be SO beautiful! :)

Those Inca's were some badass engineers! :headbang:

[edit: useful link added :)]

Thanks, Shadow. :)

I think I went to that page before. It has some really nice pictures. I am kind of more interested in the spiritual side of it, however - enlightenment, human consciousness or the origins of the word 'TEO'.

The best page I have found so far is http://www.dnai.com/~sfbardo/teotihua1.htm

It is an extremely nice read and very insightful. I've already written the guy an email thanking him for writing it! The parallels I have found between that piece of text and my book almost freaked me out!

Teotihuacan is not Inca, in fact, there were no Incas in Mexico.

We had better ;) :D

I've been there a couple of times, it is near Mexico City, there are two big piramids, the Sun piramid and the Moon Piramid.

The "Teotihuacanos" disappeared from there for no apparent reason, just like the Mayas, where they went it still an enigma.

I have books about it, last time i read some was a few years ago, i hardly remember now, if you have some concrete questions i'll look for the info and post it.

I know I saw a program on Discovery or TLC on pyramids and they went heavily into the spiritual aspects of the ones in Mexico. I don't remember the name but you might want to check Discovery's website.

Good luck to you! :)

I found something interesting, that i didn't know.

Teotihuacan was the name given to the city by the Aztecs, long time after it was destroyed, because the original name of the city is unknown. Teotihuacan means "El lugar donde son hechos los Dioses" (the place where Gods are made).

I guess you already read about Quetzalcoatl, the "main" god, represented by the "emplumed serpent" (don't know if emplumed is a word, hope you get what i mean :D )

Cool. Do you know if Teo means 'god'?

I mean...does the rest of the word - 'huacan' - have a meaning of it's own or something?

in greek Teo means god, but i don't think it means the same in the aztec language, and most likely the word can't be splitted in preffix, root and suffix, because of the lang nature.
